Celebrating a Year of Growth and Generosity:
COL’s 2023-2024 Highlights

2024 was a remarkable year for COL, marked by inspiring community support, exciting collaborations, and expanded outreach.

Building a Stronger Food Network
This year saw the launch of Food Rescue Feeding Oxford (FRFO), a collaborative effort between COL and local food organizations such as Seniors in Food Crisis, Southgate Center, Stitch, and Lunch Bunch. By sharing surplus donations, this initiative reduces food waste and supports more families in need—strengthening both community and environmental sustainability.

Growing Support – Literally!
We’ve been approached by individuals who are growing vegetables specifically to donate—just one example of how people are finding creative ways to support our mission. Key local supporters this year included:

  • Harvest Hands, St. Thomas

  • Second Harvest

  • Metro and Zehrs, Tillsonburg

  • Shoppers Drug Mart, Woodstock & Tillsonburg

  • A&W, Ingersoll

  • Foodland, Woodstock

New Space, New Opportunities
In response to our call for additional space, the owners of In Control – Adult Diapers in Woodstock generously offered Cycles of Life warehouse space. We moved in September 2024, and the new location has already proven to be a valuable asset.

Community Recognition and Support

100 Women Who Care - Oxford

In November, 2023, two dedicated Cycles of Life volunteers presented at 100 Women Who Care Oxford. Competing with two other worthy organizations, Cycles of Life was honored to be selected and awarded $10,200 to support our mission—an incredible boost and a true testament to the impact of our work.

Community Food Drives
Thanks to generous local partners, Cycles of Life hosted successful food drives at:

  • Giant Tiger, Woodstock – May 2024

  • Metro, Tillsonburg – June 2024

  • No Frills, Woodstock – August 2024

Community Events and Campaigns
At Reuseapalooza in Brownsville, Cycles of Life ran a refreshment table offering snacks, coffee, and water for donations—another great way to engage with the public and raise funds.

We’re also proud to have been chosen as the charity of choice for the Tillsonburg Tim Hortons Holiday Cookie Campaign in November, 2024. This partnership means more than just cookies—it’s about coming together to support local families.

Thank you to everyone who made 2024 a meaningful year. Your continued support fuels our work and inspires us to do even more in 2025!

Land and Cultural Acknowledgement:

We acknowledge that the land on which we operate is the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, Attawandaron (Neutral), and Wendat peoples. We recognize the enduring presence of Indigenous peoples on this land and offer our respect to their Elders, past, present, and future. We understand there is a disproportionate number of people with Indigenous ancestry in need of the support that organizations like Cycles of Life offer as a result of ongoing systemic oppression and colonization.
